Gatefold cover.
Includes two LP-sized inserts.
Rarely, the promotional `Goat Head Soup` stickers by John Pasche can be found with the record, mainly attached to the top right sleeve. Here is what Pasche, the cover art designer said in an interview: „At a very late stage they decided to use some new photos of the band for the cover and the soup images were used as a folded poster with the album and also for stickers promoting the album’s release.“ These exact stickers alone pop up from time to time without the record and also have been found on the second matrix variation. These facts, their rarity and their `promotional character` would lead to the conclusion that they have not been an integral part of the first album release. Maybe the company handed them out to some stores who either gave them away as a gift or put them on the sleeves.

This Is It For Me The Quintessential Low Down Raw, Murky And Dirty Rock `N` Roll Record Of The 70`s With A Perfect Balance Of Heavy Rockers With Beautiful Tender Ballads. I Understand It Isn`t For Everyone And Isn`t Held To The Highest Standards By Stones Fans But It Is A Perfect Conclusion To That Bluesy Country Tinged Rock And Roll Vibe The Stones Had Concocted And Perfected Starting With Beggars Banquet In 1968 And Running Through All Their Albums Up To Goats Head Soup In 1973. The Whole Band Is On Point Here With Jagger`s Voice At It`s Most Emotionally Expressive. While I Adore All The Songs I Suppose The True Highlights Would Have To Be Silver Train, Star Star, Winter, Angie, 100 Years Ago And The Beautifully Heavy Yet Ethereal Middle Eastern Somewhat Psychedelic Tinged Can You Hear The Music. I Managed To Pick Up A NM Original UK First Pressing And It Sounds As Wonderful As Ever, Put Simply The Music Sounds So Incredibly Alive And Richly Vivacious With An Incredible Atmosphere, I Highly Recommend If You Can Get One To Immediately Jump At It.

This album in my opinion is up there with Exile. The raw yet tight sound is typical of the Stones. It’s got good variation and range and brings back so many good memories.

That Goats Head in the bowl of soup.I bought it in the late 1970s.It is a big item believe me.I couldn`t fit it in my car as the horns made it too wide.Quite light considering the size, a good friend somehow attached it on his bicycle handle bars.
To get it from Phillips in Oxford Street to my place in Sloane Square he pedalled down Park Lane. All that one could see was this huge Goats Head at the front on top of these little legs pedalling away-my mate got 5 offers to buy it en route as people were then still aware of that Stones album. With great difficulty we got it into our basement bathroom. The big bulbous eyes were piercing through the dark and there were countless screams over the years when people made their first visit ,especially when dark,to the bathroom.
There were chains attached to the bottom and I was sure it was meant to be a prop during the tour-maybe above the drums on stage.I always wondered if it was on stage at some part of the 1973 Goats Head tour. Not in its later part but possibly early on-Australia/Europe ??Does anyone have any pictures or info.regards this??The head has spent most of the 21st Century in a farm barn and needs some love and care. With the reissue Lp I am intending to bring The Goats Head back to life!!

Picked this up yesterday at a local shop. I asked if it was the reissue and was told yes, but it`s on UMe records, cat # B0032241-02. copyright 2020, but I`m not sure it`s the latest release, It`s a single disc which is fine, but I find little info on the 1 disc version. All info says the latest is on Polydor. Can anyone fill in the gaps on this? what did I buy?

Was there ever a Jamaican pressing of this album? I would love to know where to buy one if there was.
