June Goodfield is a British historian, scientist, and writer of both fiction and non-fiction.

Born Gwyneth June Goodfield in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1927, she read Zoology at the University of London and undertook a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science at Leeds University, graduating in 1959, and spending the following year as a research assistant at Oxford University.
